Who we are

SimRanger is run by Shaurya Puri, a sole trader in the United Kingdom, trading as SimRanger (“we”, “us”), based in London, United Kingdom. By installing SimRanger you agree to these terms. Shopify’s own terms also apply to your use of Shopify and the Shopify App Store.

SimRanger is a tool for businesses. By installing it you confirm that you are using it for your business and that you can accept these terms on its behalf.

What SimRanger does

SimRanger sends AI shoppers through your live Shopify storefront. They browse, search, choose options and add items to a cart, then report what got in their way. When a shopper says something is broken, SimRanger repeats the same steps with ordinary browser automation, and only calls it a confirmed problem if it happens again.

SimRanger:

• only runs when you send shoppers, never on a schedule;
• never places orders, enters payment details or goes past the start of checkout;
• can only read your products, and never changes your theme, products or settings;
• does not fix problems for you. Its findings are for you to act on.

About the results

The shoppers are AI simulations, not real people. What they say they felt is an AI’s impression, which can be wrong, and it is not feedback from your real customers. A confirmed problem means our replay reproduced it at the time of the scan; your store may change afterwards. SimRanger will not find every problem, and a scan with no problems is not a promise that your store has none. Check findings yourself before changing your store.

Pricing and billing

Your first scan is free

Each store gets one free scan of 5 shoppers. If a free scan ends before any shopper visit starts, for example because your store could not be reached, it does not count, and you can try again up to 3 times.

Then pay as you go

After that, each shopper visit costs $0.50 (US dollars), plus any taxes Shopify applies. There is no monthly fee. Charges appear on your Shopify invoice and Shopify collects them.

Your spending limit

You set a monthly spending limit: $50 to start, anything from $5 to $1,000. SimRanger does not start a shopper visit that would take you past it.

When a visit is charged

A visit is charged when the shopper visited your store: it reached its goal, gave up, used all its steps, reached checkout or followed a link off your store. A visit is not charged when:

• we stopped it because it ran over our time limit;
• your store could not be reached, or is a type SimRanger does not support;
• something went wrong on our side, including an error from our AI provider or an AI reply we could not use;
• the scan was cancelled before the visit finished.

Refunds and price changes

If a charge looks wrong, email hey@simranger.com within 30 days and we will look into it. Refunds are made through Shopify. If we raise the price, Shopify will ask you to approve the new price before it applies to you.

Using SimRanger fairly

You agree not to:

• point SimRanger at a store you do not own or are not authorised to test;
• use it to load-test, attack or overload any store or service;
• put real customers’ personal details in the shopper description;
• try to get around the spending limit, the free scan rules or our safety controls;
• copy, resell or reverse-engineer SimRanger, or use it to build a competing product;
• use it for anything unlawful.

Your store and your data

Your store, its content and your scan results belong to you. You allow us to use them only to run SimRanger for you, as described in our Privacy Policy. SimRanger itself, including its software, design and the Rangers, belongs to us.

If you give us your storefront password or crawler access key, we store them encrypted and use them only to let shoppers into your store. Keep them up to date in the app; scans cannot run with an out-of-date password.

Uninstalling and suspension

You can stop using SimRanger at any time by uninstalling it from your Shopify admin. Scans that have not started are cancelled, your passwords and keys are deleted straight away, and the rest of your data is deleted as our Privacy Policy describes. You still owe for visits that ran before you uninstalled.

We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if your use puts other people or our service at risk, or if we stop offering SimRanger. Unless the situation is urgent, we will tell you first.

No warranty

SimRanger is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises beyond those in these terms, including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose.

Limits on liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

Otherwise:

• we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, sales, revenue, goodwill or data;
• our total liability for everything relating to SimRanger and these terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose and £100.

Indemnity

If someone brings a claim against us because you used SimRanger in breach of these terms, for example against a store you were not authorised to test, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and legal costs.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If there is a dispute, please email us first so we can try to sort it out. If we cannot, the courts of England and Wales will decide it.

General

• We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and give you notice before any material change applies. If you keep using SimRanger after that, the new terms apply.
• If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
• These terms, with our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about SimRanger.
• We may transfer this agreement to a company we set up to run SimRanger. You may not transfer it without our consent.
